1. Start Excel.
2. Type the following data in a new worksheet:

      A1: Name   B1: Amount
      A2: Bob    B2: 1
      A3: Sue    B3: 2
      A4: Mary   B4: 1
      A5: Jane   B5: 3
   					

3. Press ALT+F11 to start the Visual Basic Editor.
4. On the Insert menu, click Module.
5. In the module sheet, type or paste the following code:

   Sub Resize()
       ' Selects the current data area.
       Selection.CurrentRegion.Select
       ' Selects the current data area without the top row.
       Selection.Offset(1, 0).Resize(Selection.Rows.Count - 1).Select
       ' Selects the visible cells of the selection.
       ' This is useful if data is filtered or contains hidden rows.
       Selection.SpecialCells(xlVisible).Select
   End Sub
   					

6. Press ALT+F11 to return to Excel.
7. Select cell A1.
8. On the Data menu, point to Filter, and then click AutoFilter.
9. Click the arrow in the Amount field, and then click 1 in the list that appears.
   
   Your sample list will now be filtered, and only the records for Bob and Mary will be displayed.
10. On the Tools menu, point to Macro, and then click Macros.
11. Under Macro name, click Resize, and then click Run. All of the visible cells of the current data area are selected with the exception of the first (header) row.
