To create a single graphic metafile using a BorderArt design, follow these steps:

1. Create a blank publication. On the View menu, point to Zoom, and click any zoom percentage greater than 200%.
   
   NOTE: If you change the zoom, the drawing will appear larger on the screen, making it easier to work with.
2. Click the Rectangle on the left toolbar. Click and drag a box on the work area. The box should be no larger than 1/8-inch square.
3. On the Format menu, point to Line/Border style, and then click More Styles.
4. In the Border Style dialog box, follow these steps:
   
   
   1. Click the BorderArt tab.
   2. In the Available Borders list, click Balloons...Hot Air.
   3. Click OK.
5. Using the Zoom tool, click the plus (+) button until the Zoom box reaches 400 percent.
   
   NOTE: The single balloon graphic will appear in place of the small box with the resizing handles which will occupy portions of the foreground and background. If you drag the resizing handle of the box to make the box a larger size, additional balloons are added to the border. If you make the box larger, the area increases so that you can add more BorderArt objects.
6. On the Edit menu, click Cut.
7. On the Edit menu, click Paste Special.
8. In the Paste Special dialog box, click Picture, and then click OK.
9. On the File menu, click Save As. Give the file a name and click OK.

After you save the file, you can reopen it, resize it, and then use a copy and paste operation to paste the object in another publication or another Windows-based application.
