PPT2000: Bullets Change with PowerPoint Viewer (212308)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2000
- Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 97 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q212308 SYMPTOMS
If you run a presentation on a computer that has only Microsoft
PowerPoint Viewer installed, you may find that the bullets or other
symbols have changed.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when the font you originally used for your symbols
or bullets is not available on the current computer.
NOTE: Picture bullets will not be retained when you view them in the Microsoft PowerPoint viewer.
WORKAROUND
PowerPoint allows you to save fonts with a presentation so that they
can be displayed on other computers. To save fonts with a presentation,
follow these steps:
- Open your presentation.
- On the File menu, click Save As.
- In the File Name box, type either the current name of the presentation or a new name.
- Click Tools, then click Embed TrueType Fonts and click OK.
You can now view this presentation on a computer that does not have all
the fonts that PowerPoint normally installs. NOTE: Due to copyright issues, certain True Type fonts cannot be embedded inside a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.
MORE INFORMATION
When you view a PowerPoint 2000 presentation in the Microsoft PowerPoint 97 viewer, features specific to Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 are not displayed.
