WD2000: Confirm Conversion Dialog Box Not Presented Opening Non-Word File (212176)

When you open a document created in another program by dragging the document's icon to the title bar of Microsoft Word, Word does not present the Convert File dialog box, even if you have selected the Confirm conversion at Open check box.
NOTE: To locate the Confirm conversion at Open check box, click Options on the Tools menu and then click the General tab.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem and open a non-Word document with the Confirm conversion at Open option selected, click Open on the File menu, select the file in the Open dialog box, and then click Open.
You may also be able to open the file using one of the following methods. These methods work if the file type is associated with Word.
- Double-click the document's icon.
-or- - Right-click the document's icon, and then click Open or Open with on the shortcut menu.
