XL2000: User Settings Are Reset After Upgrade (212112)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Excel 2000

This article was previously published under Q212112

SYMPTOMS

If you upgrade to Microsoft Excel 2000 from an earlier version of Excel, the user settings are reset to the new defaults for Excel 2000. For example, if you change the default number of worksheets in a new workbook to 2 in an earlier version of Excel, when you upgrade to Excel 2000, the default number of worksheets in a new workbook is reset to 3.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because, by design, Excel 2000 does not inherit the user settings from earlier versions of Excel.
