WD2000: Some Open/SaveAs Shortcut Keys Changed (211890)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word 2000

This article was previously published under Q211890

SYMPTOMS

When you use shortcut keys (or a SendKeys command in a macro) to navigate in the Open (on the File menu, click Open) or SaveAs (on the File menu, click SaveAs) dialog box , a shortcut key (or SendKeys command) that you used in an earlier version of Word may not activate the command button that you want or may not function at all.

CAUSE

All of the Open (SaveAs) command button shortcut keys have been reassigned to different shortcut keys than in earlier versions of Word. This is the result of the different view command buttons being incorporated into a single command button; also, several command buttons (for example, Look in Favorites and Add to Favorites) have been removed and several new command buttons (for example, Previous Folder and Delete) have been added.
