This article was previously published under Q211748 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Word, when you open a WordPerfect 5.x or 6.x for MS-DOS or Windows document containing tables with formulas (Table Math), only the latest recalculated results of the formulas are retained as normal text. The formulas themselves are lost.
CAUSE
This is a design limitation of the WordPerfect converters supplied
with Word.
WORKAROUND
Word for Windows does support performing calculations within table cells.
To restore mathematical relationships among table cells, re-enter the formulas after the conversion is complete.
For more information about creating formulas in a table, click Microsoft Word Help on the
Help menu, type table formula in the Office Assistant or
the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topics
returned.
