XL2000: Borders Near Hidden Cells May Not Be Displayed or Printed (211647)

SYMPTOMS

When you print a Microsoft Excel worksheet that contains hidden cells adjacent to visible cells that have been formatted with a border, the border may not be printed. It also may not be displayed in Print Preview.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur when the following conditions are true:
  • The border is applied to the side of a cell that is next to a hidden column or row. - and -

  • The column or row that contains the cell with the border is the last visible column on the right, or the last visible row at the bottom of the spreadsheet.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
