WD2000: Problems with Document Based on Contemporary Memo Template (211361)

When you are working on a Microsoft Word document based on the Contemporary Memo template, the following can occur:
- The floating picture within the template disappears.
-and-
- When you run the Undo Update Fields command, Microsoft Word presents one of the following error messages:On Windows 95/98:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
When you click Details (on Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition, press ALT+D), you receive the following message:
WINWORD caused an invalid page fault in MSO9.DLL at 015f:308cfad5.
NOTE: The actual memory address may vary.
On Windows NT 4.0:
An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated.

Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address: 0x308cfad5
CAUSE
This problem occurs when the Automatically update document styles option has been turned on in the Templates and Add-ins dialog box.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, do not select the Automatically update document styles check box in the Templates and Add-ins dialog box. You can find this setting by clicking Templates and Add-Ins on the Tools menu.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
