This article was previously published under Q211335 SYMPTOMS
When you are in full-screen mode (on the View menu, click Full Screen), the Word menu bar is not automatically hidden after you activate and close an inserted OLE object.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- Turn off full-screen mode: Click Close Full Screen on the Full Screen toolbar, or press ESC.
- Turn on full-screen mode: On the View menu, click Full Screen.
Note that the Word menu bar is now hidden.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
To display as much of your document as possible on the screen, you can
switch to full-screen mode. In this mode, Word removes screen
elements, such as toolbars and scroll bars.
NOTE: If you want to use menu commands in full-screen mode, rest the
pointer at the top of the document window, and the menu bar appears. You may want to set options to specify which screen elements to display in full-screen mode. To set these options, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the View tab.
