WD2000: Word Setup Does Not Install ODBC Drivers (211331)

When you attempt to perform a mail merge or insert a database file in Microsoft Word, you may not be able to connect to your data source, because your installation is missing the required Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) drivers.
CAUSE
The Microsoft Word Setup program does not
install Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) drivers.
RESOLUTION
To install ODBC drivers on your system, please browse to the following Microsoft Web site, and install the latest Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC):
NOTE: With Microsoft Windows 2000, MDAC 2.5 is installed with the operating system and is protected by System File Protection. You cannot remove MDAC 2.5 from the system.

MDAC makes it possible for you to install any or all of the ODBC drivers and built-in drivers that you may need to access data (for example, to use Microsoft Access data in a Microsoft Word mail merge).
