Create the following macro and then add the macro as an Entry macro to your form field. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Open the form to which you want to add this functionality.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Unprotect Document.
  3. On the Tools menu, point to Macro and then click Macros.
  4. In the Macros dialog box, change the Macros in box to the document name that contains your form. In the Macro name box, type AutoDropDown and click Create.
  5. In the Microsoft Visual Basic code window, type the macro to look similar to the following example:
    Sub AutoDropDown()
       SendKeys "%{down}"
    End Sub
    					
  6. On the File menu, click Close and Return to Microsoft Word.
  7. In your Word document (form), double-click your drop-down form field.
  8. In the Drop-Down Form Field Options dialog box, change the Entry box to AutoDropDown and click OK.
  9. On the Tools menu, click Protect Document.
  10. In the Protect Document dialog box, click to select Forms and then click OK.
When you press TAB to enter your drop-down form field, the entry macro causes your form field to automatically drop down, so you can select one of the entries.
