IBM Anti Virus Hangs Windows 2000 Setup (211282)

SYMPTOMS

Windows 2000 Setup may stop responding (hang) when "Setup Tasks - Installs and Configures Devices" is displayed.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if IBM Anti Virus is installed and you are upgrading from Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. No message is displayed warning you to remove IBM Anti Virus. IBM Anti Virus is not supported in Windows 2000.

RESOLUTION

Uninstall IBM Anti Virus before upgrading to Windows 2000.
