SYMPTOMS

When you use the Chat feature in Microsoft NetMeeting to paste a large amount of text in the chat message box, some of the text may be truncated. Also, when you send the chat message, additional text may be truncated.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the amount of text in the message box exceeds the size limit of the buffer.

NOTE: The chat message box can accept about 900 to 1000 characters without truncating the text.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, paste less text in the chat message box.

MORE INFORMATION

Microsoft Chat and the Chat feature in NetMeeting are different programs. In Microsoft Chat, when you exceed the size limit of the buffer, you may receive the following error message:
The text in the clipboard buffer exceeds the limits of the text entry pane. Some of the text will be truncated.
