ACC2000: Error When You Try to Use a Shortcut to Open a Password-Protected Project (210619)

SYMPTOMS
If you create a shortcut in Microsoft Windows that points to a password-protected Visual Basic Editor project, you may receive the follow incorrect error message when you double-click the shortcut:
Microsoft Access can't find the procedure '.'
Instead, the error should indicate that a Visual Basic Editor password is needed before you can open the module. However, you cannot pass a Visual Basic Editor password through the shortcut.
RESOLUTION
Use Access to open the database. When the database is open, press ALT+F11 to open the Visual Basic Editor. You then receive a prompt for the Visual Basic Editor password.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
