SUMMARY

When you upgrade from Microsoft Word 97 to Microsoft Word 2000, any customized outline numbered lists that you created for Word 97 successfully migrate to Word 2000. Word 2000 uses a new multiple-layered numbering system similar to outline numbering for all lists.

Customized simple bulleted and numbered lists do not migrate to Word 2000. However, all documents created with customized bulleted and numbered lists open as expected in Word 2000, and all list formatting is retained in these documents.
