This article was previously published under Q210016 SYMPTOMS
When you use outline numbering in Microsoft Word 2000, the spacing between the number and text is inconsistent. This behavior is more apparent when you use a point size larger than 10 and create a numbered list with 4 or more levels.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, redefine the outline numbering levels as required. To change the outline numbering formatting, follow these steps.
- On the Format menu, click Bullets and Numbering.
- On the Outline Numbered tab, double-click the style in the first row, second from the left.
- In the Customized Outline Numbered List dialog box, change the number and text position values as required for each level.
- Click OK to save the formatting changes.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
