  • Microsoft Word 2000

This article was previously published under Q209970

SYMPTOMS

This symptom may occur when you save a document that contains tables in Microsoft Word 2000. When you save the document as a Web page (.html file), the table cell heights increase.

CAUSE

There is a difference in the way Microsoft Word and Internet Explorer deal with table algorithms. Microsoft Word makes cells only as tall as necessary; a browser makes the cells as tall as possible.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
