This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and to a Microsoft Access project (.adp).

SUMMARY

When you open a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) or a Microsoft Access project (.adp), Microsoft Access remembers the name and displays the name in the Recent File List on the File menu. The four most recently opened databases are displayed on the list. However, if you delete a database on the list, the Recent File list continues to show it as a valid database even though it does not actually exist. After you open other databases, the list is updated, and the deleted file eventually disappears from the list.

  1. Open any Access database or Access project.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options.

  4. Click the Recently file list check box to remove the check mark.
  5. Click OK.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  2. Close the file and quit Access.
  3. In Windows Explorer, delete the database..
