SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to reinstall Microsoft Call Manager, you may receive the following error message:
The disk labeled 'Microsoft Call Manager' is now required. The disk is provided by your computer manufacturer. Click OK to continue.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if both of the following conditions are true:
  • You removed Call Manager before you attempted to reinstall it.

  • Control Panel or the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel are open when you attempt to reinstall Call Manager.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, close Control Panel or the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel before you reinstall Call Manager.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft Cordless Phone System version 1.0.
