FP2000: FrontPage Moves <BODY> Tags in <FRAMESET> (208641)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000

This article was previously published under Q208641

For a Microsoft FrontPage 98 version of this article, see 188813.

SYMPTOMS

If you add a <BODY> element inside a <FRAME> element within a <FRAMESET> and open the page in FrontPage, FrontPage will first move the <BODY> tag to the <NOFRAMES> section of the document. If you add additional <BODY> tags, FrontPage will delete the tags when you switch views.

CAUSE

The body tags are deleted if they occur inside a <FRAMESET> element because the only valid HyperText Markup Language (HTML) tags allowed inside the <FRAMESET> are <FRAME> and <NOFRAMES>. FrontPage removes the <BODY>...</BODY> and any other HTML elements within the BODY element if it finds them inside the <FRAMESET> and will place the tags in the <NOFRAMES> section.

If multiple <BODY> tags are contained within the document, they will be combined into a single <BODY> tag and placed within the <NOFRAMES> section of the document.
