Verify that Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 or later is installed on your computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Help menu, click About Internet Explorer.
  3. Verify that the version number is 4.72.3110 or greater. If you have an earlier version of Internet Explorer, install Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 or later from the following Microsoft Web site:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx
  4. Quit Internet Explorer.
When you have verified that you are using Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 or later, follow these steps to correct the Version value in the registry:

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
  3. Double-click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, double-click SOFTWARE, double-click Microsoft, and then click Internet Explorer.
  4. In the Name column in the right pane of Registry Editor, click Version.

Check the version number listed in the Data column next to the Version value.

If this number is less than 4.72.3110.0, proceed to the next step. If this number is 4.72.3110.0 or greater, download and reinstall Internet Explorer from the following Microsoft Web site:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx
  5. Double-click Version.
  6. In the Value Data box, type 4.72.3110.0, and then click OK.
