Computer Hangs When You Start Borland C++ Builder Pro 3.0 (208268)

SYMPTOMS

When you start the Borland C++ Builder Pro 3.0 program, your computer may stop responding (hang).

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you use an S3 ViRGE 325 video adapter and the Hardware acceleration slider is set to the first or second notch closest to Full.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact S3 to obtain the latest video driver or move the Hardware acceleration slider to the first or second notch closest to None. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click the System tool.
  2. On the Performance tab, click Graphics, and then move the Hardware acceleration slider to the first or second notch closest to None.
  3. Click OK, and then click Close.
  4. Click Yes when you are prompted to restart your computer.
