SYMPTOMS

If you cut or copy a file you want to print, and then you try to paste that file to your printer icon in your Printers folder, the file may not print and you do not receive an error message.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you try to paste a file to a printer in your Printers folder.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods:

Drag the File to the Printer

Drag the file you want to print to your printer in the Printers folder or to a printer shortcut.

Paste the File to a Printer Shortcut

To paste the file you want to print to a shortcut icon, follow these steps:
  1. In the Printers folder, drag the printer you want to the desktop, and then click Yes.
  2. Cut or copy the file you want to print, right-click the printer shortcut, and then click Paste.
