When you use the command-line file transfer protocol (FTP) client in Windows 98, when you attempt to download a file from the server, the process takes a long time.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if the Hash option is turned on.

To switch the FTP Hash command on and off, type hash at an FTP prompt, and then press ENTER.
