Icons next to menu items and menu items that are exposed by clicking the chevrons at the bottom of the menu, are displayed as black boxes and bars.
CAUSE
You have changed the color palette option from High Color (16 bit) to 256 Color.
RESOLUTION
Restart Outlook.
MORE INFORMATION
For the settings to take effect Outlook must be restarted.
