SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to play a Quicktime .mov file, a new browser window opens and the words "connecting to..." are displayed in the status bar. When the status bar indicates that the file has been downloaded, the file is not displayed on the screen. The bottom line of the page may also be cut off.

CAUSE

Internet Explorer 5, 5.01, and 5.5 require an updated version of the QuickTime application.

RESOLUTION

Apple has released QuickTime version 3.0.
