WD98: Setup Button Unavailable for Mail Merge to Electronic Mail (206173)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to perform a mail merge to electronic mail in Word 98, the Setup button is unavailable (dimmed) in the Merge dialog box.

NOTE: Word 98 Help states that it is possible to perform a mail merge to electronic mail by using the e-mail program Quarterdeck, formerly Microsoft Mail for Appletalk Networks.

CAUSE

Since the release of Office 98 for the Macintosh, the Quarterdeck Mail software was sold to Starnine Mail. Starnine Mail then created a new version of the software. Due to modifications in the code of the new version, the mail merge feature does not function as the Help file states.
