Wrong Certificate May Be Displayed After Redirect (206149)

SYMPTOMS

You may experience any of the following behaviors:
  • When you redirect from a secure site to an unsecured site and you reach the unsecured site and double-click where the Lock icon is supposed to be located, the certificate from the previous site may be displayed.
  • When you redirect from a secure site to another secure site, the certificate that is displayed is that of the redirecting site and not the site to which you are redirected.
  • When you redirect from an unsecured site to a secure site and you reach the unsecured site and double-click the Lock icon, you may receive an error message stating that there is no certificate for the page.

RESOLUTION

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
