Docked Hewlett-Packard OmniBook 800CT Does Not Play Sound (205870)

SYMPTOMS

After you dock a Hewlett-Packard (HP) OmniBook 800CT portable computer, the ES1887 Plug and Play AudioDrive (WDM) device may not play sound. If you look in Device Manager, you may notice that the ES1887 Plug and Play AudioDrive (WDM) device has an exclamation point next to it.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you insert (hot-dock) the computer into your docking station while the power is on.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, start the computer after you insert the computer into the docking station, or restart your computer after it has been inserted into it's docking station.
