Problem with Compaq DeskPro Using Integrated AMD Network Adapter (205829)

When you attempt to perform a "clean" installation of Windows 98 on a Compaq DeskPro 5166 computer that contains an AMD PCNET PCI - II (1994 BIOS) network adapter, your computer may stop responding (hang) after Windows Setup restarts your computer for the second time.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem:
- When your computer stops responding, press the reset button to restart it.
- Click Start, click Run, type asd, and then click OK.
- Follow the instructions on the screen and then restart your computer when you are prompted to do so.
MORE INFORMATION
A "clean" installation of Windows means either installing Windows on a
blank hard disk, or installing Windows in a folder other than the folder in which an existing version of Windows is installed.
