WD2000: WordArt Object Shadow Is Cut Off After You Save File in Rich Text Format (204529)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Rich Text Format (*.rtf) to save a Word document that contains a WordArt object with a shadow, and then you reopen the RTF document, the shadow part of the WordArt object may be cut off.

WORKAROUND

To prevent this problem, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Change the Wrapping Style of the WordArt Object

  1. Click to select the WordArt object.
  2. On the Format menu, click WordArt.
  3. On the Layout tab, click to select a different wrapping style other than In line with text, and then click OK.

    For example, click the Square wrapping style.

Method 2: Change the Paragraph Formatting of the "In Line with Text" Object

To change the paragraph formatting of the In line with text WordArt object, follow these steps:
  1. Click to select the WordArt object.
  2. On the Format menu, click Paragraph.
  3. On the Indents and Spacing tab, do the following:
    1. Change the Line spacing box to Exactly.
    2. Change the At box to a value that allows the entire WordArt object to be displayed. For example, change the At box to 110 pt.
  4. Click OK to close the Indents and Spacing dialog box.
