The information in this article applies to:
- FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions from Microsoft
This article was previously published under Q202323 SYMPTOMS
When you use the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) to create new nested
subwebs, and you choose to use unique permissions, the parent Web's
permissions are inherited.
CAUSE
When you create subwebs in the MMC, FrontPage applies the permissions of
the parent Web to the subweb.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, remove the root Web's groups from the subweb. In
the FrontPage client, do the following: - On the File menu, click Open Web.
- Select your Web, and click Open.
- On the Tools menu, point to Security and click
Permissions.
- On the Groups tab, highlight the group you want to remove and
click the Remove button.
- When you have removed all the groups that you want to, click
OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions.
