SYMPTOMS

You cannot use the Outlook Express Save As menu option to save an an HTML message that you cannot decrypt. This problem primarily occurs with HTML messages that are encrypted and that you receive on a different computer than where your digital ID is stored. For example, you may want to save the message to disk to transport it to another computer to open later.

WORKAROUND

You can use the system's Drag-and-Drop feature to save this message to another location. You can also save the message source to a different location.

Drag and Drop

With the HTML message visible in a Table view, drag it to your desktop. From there, right-click the message, and then click Send To to send it to a floppy drive.

Save Source

With the HTML message open, right-click the body, and then click View Source. From the File menu, click Save As to save it to your hard drive or a floppy drive.
