Err Msg: The 32-bit Device Driver Vmodem(01) + 0000D75C... (201294)

When you try to use your modem after you upgrade your Microsoft Windows 95-based computer to Windows 98, you may receive the following error message on a blue screen:
The 32-bit device driver Vmodem (01) + 0000D75C has attempted to use a System Service which is not loaded. It may be possible to continue normally.
If you then click any button to continue, you may receive the following error message:
Error 630: The computer is not receiving a response from the modem. Check that the modem is plugged in, and if necessary, turn the modem off, and turn it back on.
Also, your computer may stop responding (hang).
CAUSE
This issue can occur if your computer has an ATI 600 Series fax modem. Windows 98 does not include drivers for this device.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, contact ATI to inquire about the availability of a fix for this issue, or obtain and install the most current driver for this device. For information about how to obtain and install the most current driver for this device, view the documentation included with the device, or contact ATI.
NOTE: This issue may not be resolved by installing Windows 95 drivers.
