CD: Metabase Deployment Also Replicates IP Address (200869)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Site Server 3.0
- Microsoft Content Deployment
This article was previously published under Q200869 SYMPTOMS
When deploying the Web site metabase, the IP address is deployed as well.
WORKAROUND
Once the metabase has been deployed, modify the IP address on the endpoint server to reflect the correct IP address of the server.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Site Server version 3.0. MORE INFORMATION
Metabase deployment clones the Web servers' properties, achieving a configuration without having to set the server up from scratch. The only parts of the configuration that do not clone are the IP address and the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates, if applicable.
When deploying a metabase project, ensure the default authentication account has operator rights on the destination server and the destination Web site. To set the rights for the Web site, edit the master properties for the World Wide Web (WWW) service in Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS). See IIS documentation for more information.
Setting up a metabase deployment is very similar to setting up any other content deployment project.
Consult the online documentation for setting up Metabase Deployment.
