Cannot Enable Infrared Communication from the Taskbar (200749)

SYMPTOMS

When you right-click the Infrared Monitor icon on the taskbar, and then click Enable infrared communication, you cannot enable infrared (IR) communication.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, enable infrared communication in the Infrared Monitor tool:
  1. Right-click the Infrared Monitor icon on the taskbar, and then click Open.
  2. On the Options tab, click to select the Enable infrared communication check box, and then click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
