The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition

This article was previously published under Q200175

SYMPTOMS

If you display a message box by clicking a control on a user form that has multiple instances, the latest instance may move behind earlier instances of the user form.

CAUSE

If you use the New keyword to create instances of a user form, and the user form contains a control that has code to display a message box, the message box may cause the latest instance of the user form to move behind all other instances of the user form.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Excel 2001 for Mac.

MORE INFORMATION

The current instance of the user form appears behind all other instances until you dismiss the message box. The current user form then returns to the front position.

This problem does not occur in Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition or Microsoft PowerPoint 98 Macintosh Edition.
