Java Virtual Machine Selection Reverts to Apple MRJ (199843)

SYMPTOMS

If you select the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine option in Internet Explorer preferences, the selection may change to Apple MRJ after you visit a site running a Java program.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you are running Macintosh OS 8.5 or later. The Microsoft Java Virtual Machine is not compatible with OS 8.5 or later.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
