Proxy Server 2.0 Does Not Recognize NTFS Partitions in Windows 2000 (199804)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0
This article was previously published under Q199804 SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to enable caching in Proxy Server 2.0 on a computer running Windows 2000 Server, Proxy Server may not detect NTFS partitions that do not have a drive letter assigned.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if you use the Windows 2000 feature that allows you to mount partitions without using a drive letter. For caching, Proxy Server 2.0 requires that you have at least one NTFS partition using a valid drive letter.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, assign a drive letter to an NTFS partition, and then restart the computer.
