SYMPTOMS

Step 8 of lesson 5 in the Windows 98 Overview incorrectly instructs you to click the Internet Explorer News button on the Links toolbar. This link is not (by default) on the Links toolbar.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, click any other link to proceed through this step.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The "Show Me" demo in this step still displays the Internet Explorer News button.
