UNC Not Supported in Site Foundation Wizard (199099)

In the Site Foundation Wizard, if a UNC directory location is specified
rather than a local or mapped directory to create a new site, the site
foundation does not get created correctly.
CAUSE
There is a problem in pre-SP2 versions of the Site Server 3.0 Commerce
Edition in support for the Universal Naming Convention (UNC) and in the
ability to configure additional Web servers (IIS metabase entries).
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, apply the latest Site Server 3.0 service pack.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Site Server version 3.0. This problem has been corrected in the
latest U.S. service pack for Microsoft Site Server version 3.0. For information on obtaining the service pack, query on the
