OL2000: (CW) PAB Missing From Check Names List (198952)

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup/Other option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the Corporate Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

When you send mail, the Personal Address Book (PAB) is missing from the list of address books that are used to check names.

RESOLUTION

Manually add the Personal Address Book to the list of addresses to check when sending mail.

The PAB will not be added to the dialog box titled "When sending mail, check names using these address lists in the following order." To add the Personal Address Book to the list, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Services.
  2. On the Addressing tab, click Add.
  3. Click to select "Personal Address Book", click Add, and then Close.
  4. To close the window, click Apply, and then OK.
