OL2000: Total Pages Button is Dimmed in Page Setup of Memo Style (198863)

SYMPTOMS

The button that adds the Total Pages field into the header or footer of an item is unavailable in the Page Setup of the Memo Style.

RESOLUTION

Type "[Total Pages]" (without the quotes) in the appropriate position.

To print "the current page number of the total number of pages" centered at the bottom of each page of the open item, follow these steps:

  1. On the File menu, point to Page Setup, and click Memo Style.
  2. Click the Header/Footer tab.
  3. Click to position the insertion point into the middle box in the footer section and type the following:

    [Page #] of [Total Pages]
  4. Click Print, and then click OK.
