Font button does not affect Wordmail editor (198848)

SYMPTOMS

When you change the font settings for composing, reading, replying to, and forwarding e-mail, the new settings do not apply when you use Microsoft Word as your your e-mail editor.

CAUSE

The font formatting changes for composing, reading, replying to, and forwarding e-mail apply only to Plain Text, HTML, and Microsoft Outlook Rich Text message formats.

RESOLUTION

With Word selected as your default e-mail editor, open a new message and change the default font.

When you use Word as your your e-mail editor, font settings are based on your Personal Stationery settings.

To change the fonts Word uses when Word is your e-mail editor, follow these steps:
  1. Open a new mail message and click in the body of the message.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options and then click the General tab.
  3. Click E-mail Options and then click the Personal Stationery tab.
  4. Change the font settings for New mail messages and Replying or forwarding messages, and then click OK.
  5. Click OK and OK again to exit Options and save your font changes.
