ACC2000: FollowHyperlink Method Uses Current Instance of Database (198458)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q198458 Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.
SYMPTOMS
If you use the FollowHyperlink method to link to an object in the same
Microsoft Access database, and you set the newwindow argument to True, the
object will not appear in a new instance of Microsoft Access. The object
will instead appear in the current window.
CAUSE
The newwindow Argument of the FollowHyperlink method has no effect on links
to Microsoft Access objects. If the object to which you are linking is in
the same Microsoft Access database, the object will always appear in the
current window. Conversely, if the object to which you are linking is in
another database, the object will appear in a new window as another
instance of Microsoft Access. In either case, setting the newwindow
argument in the FollowHyperlink method to True or False has no effect.
