This article was previously published under Q198419 SYMPTOMS When you click Start and then click Shut Down on your IBM
ThinkPad 760- series or 765-series computer with an MWave DSP (digital signal
processor) device, the Suspend command may be missing. CAUSE This behavior can occur if you upgrade Microsoft Windows 95
to Windows 98. The Windows 95-based version of the MWave DSP program does not
support Advanced Power Management features. RESOLUTION To resolve this behavior, run Apmpatch.exe located in the
Drivers\Pwrmgmt\Ibm folder on the Windows 98 CD-ROM, or obtain the latest MWave
DSP drivers from IBM's Web site. STATUS Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft
Windows 98.
