The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Search, when used with:
- Microsoft Site Server 3.0
This article was previously published under Q198303 SYMPTOMS
When you perform a Site Server Search file crawl of a UNIX workstation
using the Samba software suite to implement the Server Message Block (SMB)
protocol, you may receive the following error message:
Error fetching URL, (8007006d - The pipe has been ended. )

CAUSE
This problem occurs because Samba does not support the GetFileSecurity
remote API. This results in file crawls not working properly due to
improper handling of the ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED error that is returned.
