Publisher cannot create the file because the GIF export filter is
missing.
Please run setup again to reinstall the missing filter. For more
information on running setup, press F1 now.
Publisher cannot generate a picture on Page 1 into a graphic for your
website. The graphic may be too large, or your computer may be low on
memory.
CAUSE
This error message occurs if your GIF import/export filter (Gifimp32.flt)
is missing, outdated, or corrupted. It may also occur if the Windows
Registry entries for the GIF import/export filter are missing or corrupted.
RESOLUTION
Click Help, then click Detect and Repair. This will solve the issue in most
cases. If this does not resolve the issue, use one of the following two
methods listed below.
If you receive the first error listed in the SYMPTOMS portion of this
article, the Gifimp32.flt is probably missing, damaged, or the wrong
version. Rename and replace the Gifimp32.flt file.
If you receive the second error message listed in the SYMPTOMS portion of
this article, the registry settings for the graphics filter may be
incorrect or damaged. Remove the GIF import Filter registry entries and
restart Microsoft Publisher.
To Replace Gifimp32.flt- Rename the file Gifimp32.flt. By default, this file is located in
the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Grphflt
- You can copy this file from the following folder on the Publisher CD:
D:\Shared\Grphflt
assuming that D: is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive. If you have Publisher on disk, you can replace this file by running Publisher Setup and clicking the Reinstall button in the Maintenance Mode Setup dialog box.
