XL97: Rotated Cells Incorrectly Display Zeros (198159)

Cells display a zero value although they contain other values.
CAUSE
This problem may occur when all of the following conditions are true:
- You use the General number format.
-and-
- You format rows to have a specific height.
-and-
- You format cells to have a rotated orientation.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, use any of the following methods to change
one of the conditions listed earlier.
Method 1: Use a Number Format Other Than General- Select the cells with rotated text.
- On the Format menu, click Cells.
- On the Number tab, in the Category list, click any format other
than General. Click OK.
Method 2: Increase the Row Height
To adjust the height of the row to accommodate all of the text in a cell,
follow these steps:
- Select the cells with rotated text.
- On the Format menu, point to Row, and then click AutoFit.
Method 3: Change the Rotated Text Property- Select the cells with rotated text.
- On the Format menu, click Cells. Then, click the Alignment tab.
- Under Orientation, type 0 (zero) in the Degrees box. Then, click OK.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
